Ok. So I killed a few brain cells on Saturday night. It was totally worth it to get to see some of my friends again. I miss them dearly, as well as many others whom I didn’t get to see this trip.
At least I don’t think I saw them. Things are a bit blurry.
Here’s what I do know: I know I had breakfast on Sunday with Angel. She was also a little groggy from her own evening out with her friends, but was kind enough to join me for breakfast. As usual with Angel, there was a LOT of laughing. Thankfully, our server was willing to put up with our shenanigans.
Angel left, and I remember returning to my hotel room, but I honestly don’t remember what happened after that. Not because I was that drunk or hung over, mind you. I simply can’t remember what I did. I was supposed to have met up with a friend I hadn’t seen in nearly 20 years and her husband, but she wasn’t feeling well and had to cancel. I know at some point I traded texts with another friend, trying to coordinate times that we would be able to meet before I left town. (unsuccessfully, I might add) I also know I took some time to catch up on some work emails. But the rest of the time between breakfast with Angel and dinner with my parents is a blur.
Speaking of dinner with my parents, we originally planned to go to The Union Bistro. Alas, they are not open on Sundays, so we went with door number two: Central City Taphouse. Yes, I was there less than 24 hours before, but hey…they have a good menu so I didn’t mind a bit. We ate, talked, and just enjoyed the evening. Far too brief, I’m afraid. But I enjoyed every minute of it, and am looking forward to doing it again on my next trip home.
No, I don’t know when that will be, so don’t bother asking.
After dinner, I returned to my hotel and once again tried (unsuccessfully) to coordinate possible meeting times. Considering how exhausted I was, I decided it would be a good idea to call it a night and get some sleep. Monday was going to be a packed day, and I’d need to be ready for it…
